Acne Scar Removal

A TruZen Laser Treatment
for All Ages

Acne is a disfiguring condition that affects millions of Americans. Often associated with the teenage years, acne can affect both men and women well into adulthood, particularly women between 20 and 40.

Acne and the scars it can leave behind often cause feelings of insecurity and low self-esteem. The skin health professionals at TruZen Medspa understand that just as each person is unique, so is their case of acne scarring. As such, we offer a range of laser technology treatment options to give you back a smooth, healthy, and glowing complexion.

Laser Treatment for Acne Scarring

Laser treatment is a powerful, non-surgical solution that surpasses what can be achieved via other acne scar removal options. Specifically, and with the help of FDA-approved light technology, TruZen MedSpa can elevate depressed scars, remove excess redness, and improve skin tone and texture. Our procedure also helps activate the body’s natural healing processes.

How Does It Work?

Laser treatment for acne scarring works by focusing light on the top layers of the skin to break up scar tissue, thus revealing a layer of smoother skin. When skin grows back, the new cells show less evidence of scarring and will feature improved color and texture. Additionally, laser technology penetrates deep into the skin, stimulating the production of collagen which aids in the healing process.

While this treatment doesn’t completely remove acne scars, it can reduce their appearance and minimize any discomfort they might be causing.

Laser Treatments for Acne Scarring

TruZen MedSpa employs a variety of laser treatments to address the diverse needs of our patients. Here are a few examples:

  • Ablative Laser Resurfacing: This treatment removes damaged tissue using either a carbon dioxide laser for deep scars or an erbium laser for milder scarring. It can take 3 to 10 days before redness from ablative laser treatment begins to subside.
  • Fractionated Laser Resurfacing: Fractional lasers go beneath the upper layers of skin to remove cells that are darkly pigmented; at the same time, fractional lasers stimulate the production of collagen.
  • Non-Ablative Laser Resurfacing: This type of treatment uses infrared heat lasers which increase the body’s production of collagen and encourage new cell growth.

During your consultation, we will examine your skin and discuss your goals to determine the best method of treatment.

What Are the Benefits of Laser Treatments for Acne Scars?

  • Unlike over-the-counter remedies, laser treatments work quickly, often producing noticeable results immediately after the first treatment. You will notice improvement for several days after as your skin continues to heal.
  • Laser treatments are effective at treating large, noticeable scars that other remedies can’t treat.
  • Laser technology is ideally suited for healing damage deep below the skin’s surface.
  • Laser treatments are gentle, safe, and fast.

Am I a Good Candidate for Laser Acne Scar Removal?

People of all skin types and tones can benefit from laser treatments for acne scar removal. However, if you have active acne, a darker skin tone, or severe wrinkling, laser treatment may not be right for you. you might not be a good candidate forthis treatment.

What to Expect

Remember that laser treatments won’t remove acne scars completely but will make them less noticeable. Some patients see significant initial results followed by gradual improvement over the next 3 to 10 days.

It’s important to be extra vigilant about your skin care in the weeks and months after treatment as your skin will be more vulnerable to damage, especially from the sun.

No downtime is required following treatment and most patients can resume regular activities the next day.
